Colours used:
Titanium white + sky blue +little little bit of purple for the sky
Titanium white for the clouds
Phthalo blue for the mountains
White + little or no phthalo blue for the highlights on the mountain and white for snow caps.
Mid inexperienced + yellow ocher and burnt sienna for the space land.
Phthalo inexperienced for distance timber. Mixture of white + phthalo inexperienced for the highlights.
Mixture of white and sky blue for the river.
Deep inexperienced, mid inexperienced, yellow inexperienced and yellow for the entrance bushes.
Deep inexperienced for the pine tree for the highlights I used mid inexperienced and yellow inexperienced.

Brushes used:
Fan brush and filbert brush for sky and clouds.
Flat brush and palette knife for mountains.
Filbert brush for the space floor and flat brush for distance timber.
Fan brush for river and entrance bushes.
Filbert brush for pine tree.

Canvas measurement Eight x 8

  1. I tried this tutorial out with 0 experience in painting whatsoever. It actually turned out pretty good looking! I tell you, the trick is in the paint brushes. Don't skimp on those. And water. That helped so much with blending. Can't wait to try another one!

  2. Is there anything you suggest if I change the dimensions of the painting? The paper I have is 18 by 24 inches so it is not a full square like your canvas. I am going to paint it with the paper horizontally so the painting will be wide rather than tall. Beautiful video!
