This is so damn smart omg OoO
You are so damn smart. Thank you so much.
Looks absolutely the same
This is the best explained vdo i have seen so far
I am so thankful to find this video. Thank you so much! Because I need more understand both techniques and I realised that some shades which I have presented in acrylics, they aren't available in oil paintings…β€ππ»
You can get those sticks in the make-up section
Thanks for all the tipsπ
love your work, i am still trying to figure out how you can be saving time when you are painting it twice, can you explain it better, thanks
Can i have the name of the gloss isolation and medium that you use I'm a complete beginner can explain to me what they do i have listened to video but it would help me if it was in a message that I could take into the art supply shop because I don't understand completely what I'm for. Please thank you
Chuck does the whole painting have to be gone over with oil or can you just do specific areas
Very helpful.
Boy, those Style sticks really are impossible to find.
Any hints where I might have a prayer?
Thx
nice
U r sooo talented sir
Thank you for the memoy jog.
TY!!
This is fantastic painting even before the touch up, do you ever use the open acrylics or do they still not compare to oils.
Beautiful tutorial and painting! Thank you for demonstrating this technique! What is the process once you are done? How long does this small amount of oil application take before it's dried? Do you spray the painting again with the clear gloss spray once it's dried?
Chuck, your work is masterful of course! QUESTION: I'm trying to come up with a style for a fast oil portrait done over a fast, non detailed acrylic underpainting. But I want some of the graphite outline drawing left so I can see accurate details. If I spray with the crystal clear spray you mentioned, will that seal graphite enough so that it won't ever show or come through the oil layers?
Wow!
Wow, this is a real perfection ist. I am one too but thot no one could match me, lol. Absolutely a great artist. Beautiful painting. I hope one day to be as good. I'm a beginner but already wanting to be as good as this wonder artist. And, I think he is young. How can he get any better?? Ross would have learned a bit from this one. Is this painting for sale??God Bless
How do varnishhh thissss
This painting looked perfect to me till you added a touch of oil perfection to it! I learned so much. Did an acrylic painting and had some errors on it while trying to blend. I was frustrated and wanted to wash it off… But then your video gave me hope to fix it. My painting is looking like nothing happened ππ. I really appreciate thanks.
This to me is painting it twice.. Why not paint it in oil first , and be done with it.
Do you offer painting classes? I have yet to find some decent classes. Theres one or 2 but the prices are outrageous.
Can I oil in an acrylic painting ?
Andrew, Thank you for this. I just got some oil paints and supplies to work over acrylics, too, and this is so helpful. I love that acrylics donβt smell, are easy to clean, and dry fast. But even with slow drying acrylic types and mediums, I canβt get what I want with skies and skin and flower petals, etc. Just ordered the Krylon as you suggested. Really love your work and appreciate your advice. Cheers.
Amazing π What varnish do you use when using both acrylic and oils?
You're so good at showing and explaining. It helps a LOT when artists show us the problems they encounter, and how they go about solving them. There are so very many problems cries
Iβm in love with this technique and video!ππ
What do you use to seal your oil paint? Do you use a spray like Kamar Varnish matte or a liquid varnish specifically for oil paint? Since only some areas of the painting are oil, with the majority being acrylic, I'm confused on which sealant or varnish to use
I was convinced throughout the intro that the painting was already complete & perfect… Didn't realize it needed any finishing touches! π
Awesome explanation. Never thought to use oil OVER acrylic. My mind is blown.
I sometimes thought that he was painting over a real photograph
What if you wanted more layers of oil than just 2-3? How does the fast drying medium play into fat over lean?
Absolutely magnificent.π thanks
