I'm having trouble getting all the beautiful tones of dark skin to show in a tiny portrait I'm working on. The whole figure is only about 5 inches tall and she is somewhat back lit. I can do a larger portrait fine, but reducing the scale and keeping the values in the right places is stumping me.

This is a really helpful tutorial. Thank you. Easy to follow with enough structure for us to understand which steps to take and consider. The video showed the messy process and the end goal which helps so that when I try and it looks messy, I dont quickly discard it but keep going until the end / desired results starts to emerge.
