  2. Just found you. Love this as you explain things well. Please keep posting more dogs and cats. I have painted a few dogs and cats(self taught) since Covid. Hope to learn more details from your work. Btw I’m 76, and came from Lancashire to Canada when I was 7, so love an English accent.

  3. Wonderful video – I'm a watercolorist trying to learn opaque media. This was helpful, watching in real time.
Do you only use paint out of the tube, or do you mix with water? Do you use mediums?

  4. Those first markings we see, like the eyes, nose, outline of face – how do you get that? Are you just eye-balling it or do you use a copying technique? Love your videos, I’ve always found animals so difficult to paint!

  5. Brilliant videos and by your accent I’ll say hello neighbour ☺️ I’ve recently started painting animal portraits and never understood the blocking in stage – I’m currently painting a greyhound and the reference photo wasn’t great so I didn’t quite know where to start – before I knew it I was blocking in naturally and finally I get it! Loving your videos

  6. Fantastic and informative video! You’re so talented. You mentioned your paper..where do you get it please? I just looked on Amazon and it’s so expensive, I’ve not used acrylics for years as mainly use pan pastels and pencils but wanted to give it a go x 🤗

  7. I think you do rather well, talking to yourself. It benefits me to ease drop. 😆. I see a border collie behind the pug. I hope you will paint one sometime. I have painted 2 in watercolor. Rough going. I would like to try in acrylic as well.

  8. Hello, I enjoyed watch you paint. I have a few question regarding the painting of the pugs lower body fur. What color did you start with , was it gray or a gray brown mixture. Also, when you were adding more paint to the fur I couldn’t telling you were using a lighter color or if it was the wet paint just going over the drier paint that made it look lighter. Do you add water to your acrylic paint.
    Thank you 😊

  9. This is wonderful! Thank you for sharing the steps in your painting style. Your explanation about using black in pet portraits makes so much sense. Thank you for this tutorial, You are a talented artist and you would make a wonderful art teacher.
