  1. I know this video is over a year old but one thing that I saw another artist do was to lightly sand between the layers of gesso and after the top layer. You'd obvs have to let the layers dry in between but it gives a much smoother end result when you paint on top. The artist also sanded the wood prior to applying any gesso.
