  1. Ohhh soooo helpful with my project. Exactly what I was searching for.. a Smokey sky using acrylic! Easy with oil, but trying to learn about acrylics. Very appreciative of your kindness in sharing. Love the relaxing music as well. Will watch several times before starting my HUGE canvas. Thank you!

  2. I don't understand how the paint stays wet as you circle around the canvas. I would have had to spray some water ….a mist…on the canvas for sure. Perhaps you used a retarder in the paint, although I didn't see that. The scrub brush technique is something I would use as well as the mop brush to create a soft blend for my upcoming abstract background painting. Good lesson here. the way you don't rush anything.

  3. I started painting a few months ago. For my next paint, I wanted a background similar to this one. A little lighter. Thank you for this lesson. I learned much in the way of using these colors and the blending of.

  4. Such a lovely meditative video……Jane’s voice, the music, the gentle confident brush strokes…..have you done a DVD of your techniques Jane as would love to purchase….you should do one on Liliart with Eric Roades.

  5. This is so helpful! You really are talented, not just as an artist, but as a teacher. Those little details, like holding the brush or pressure of brush, are said in an easy to understood manner and why it’s done. I really enjoy all your videos!

  6. Wow! I have been mightily struggling with my backgrounds. I’ve been making a total mess of them and after watching this video, I see exactly what I’ve been doing wrong . I can’t thank you enough for this much needed demonstration.

  7. Me at around 10 mins: walked away for a cuppa and came back to an all white painting and wth?? Why is it all white? Why did she do all that effort and make such a gorgeous background just to paint over.. oh. There's a part II…..

  8. I am a beginner. I was struggling with the right technique to paint what I had conceptualized. Thanks a million; in time, you guided me!💐

You are a wonderful teacher and you look gorgeous too! 👍
