I have a face portrait with dark blue/alizrian red background in OIL. I would like to incorporate different blues around the face, is the method the same for oil, since it dries slow, it would take a month just to layer, if that's the case. Or just try to not blend the colors that are underneath??

I guess I can apply it to oils but would need to be careful not to create a mess, I guess the trick is waiting to dry then brush technique as you show here. I'm struggling with a background for Woman With Red Hair by Modigliani which I'm doing in oil but will try your technique. Thanks again 👍
