I'm working on my first wood project and never painted wood before so I did sand using 80,120,150,220 and its so smooth like shiny almost look polished. I will be using binjamen moore waterborne white paint is that ok or do I need to rough the wood because its too smooth ?

Ohh. That explains why i have painted some stuff, but its like the wood "drinks" the paint :O Ive given it probable like 5 thick layers (or 15 thin layers ?) And specially white Will just be sucked
Hi! This is very good tutorial! Can i use PVC glue instead of PVA glue? Cuz I have 2 bottles of PVC glue that I’ve never used
Step 1: Sanding in the right direction
Step 2: PVA Glue or Resin
Step 3: Add Water to the PVA glue Or Resin
Step 4: Put a few layers on the board and the edges
Step 5: Let it Dry
Step 6: Put some Gesso on and lightly sand it in between
Step 7: If you paint with oil add An Oil Ground

It's much easier to use an orbital sander for the first round or two, then switch to hand sanding for the very fine sand paper. This will cut the sanding time by orders of magnitude.

When you get to the stage of applying the gesso can you add an acrylic paint to the gesso as I don’t want a white surface because I will be painting a landscape 😊
